The owner of this apartment wanted to renovate both the internal and external spaces with a minimalist design, putting a strong focus on the kitchen area. To get the best results, the entire layout had to be changed to ensure the best flow and aesthetics. Careful use of raw materials such as wood and stone, the use of internationally inspired kitchen utilities and finishing in the bathrooms gave the renovation a minimalist feel.
Challenges and solutions
The rooftop also lacked privacy due to it being lower than neighbouring buildings. To solve this, tall wooden terracing was built to block out the neighbours and create a retreat from the city.
The renovation was a success and was even credited in SCMP’s Post Magazine.
